Sensei George Changes Lives in Braselton with Karate

While sometimes it feels like 2020 is hitting us with a bus over and over again, we lean into the lessons we teach our karate, kickboxing, and MMA students. We persevere and we fight to overcome and get better. Some of our parents may have seen this firsthand this summer. Because of sudden and heartbreaking events, we had to make adjustments. We are pleased to welcome Sensei George Fernandez to our Legacy MMA family.

While he’s new to you, he’s not new to us. Dustin and George have known each other for over 20 years. They met at Benn Cohen’s American Kenpo in Florida where Dustin studied and trained. As our existing families know, once you’re part of Dustin’s circle, you become family.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Dustin’s Braselton partner has over 30 years of experience in martial arts. Sensei George is a 5th-degree black belt in Taw Kwon Do and a black belt in Kenpo karate. He started at the age of six and had his black belt in Kenpo karate by 14. Like many of our students, Sensei George was picked on as a kid. The discipline, structure, and focus on well-being inside and out instilled by Kenpo karate changed his life and he hopes to pay it forward by changing lives as your child(ren)’s an instructor. Sensei George started teaching at just 15 years old. As a teen, he was a state champion in form fighting and weapons. Martial arts became a lifestyle and passion for him. He went on to study Tae Kwon Do, working hard to get a 5th-degree black belt.

Empowering Young People with Karate in Braselton

Karate isn’t just something you make your child go-to for after school care. It’s an investment in a life path. When you speak with Sensei George, he’ll come ask you how he can transform your life. As parents, we’re looking to transform our children’s lives by teaching them discipline and life values that empower them at home, school, and the world. Classes at Legacy MMA Braselton are guaranteed to be different than other karate schools in the area. Sensei George has his own unique style. His classes are fun, modern, hip, exciting-- full of real-life lessons. He pushes his students to learn how to be comfortable in uncomfortable situations.

 Teamwork and Family First

Family is important to Sensei George. He’s backed and supported by his longtime girlfriend, Samantha. Sensei George has 4 daughters, one going to wrestling school to join WWE. As a father, he understands the need for children, especially girls, to study martial arts.  Legacy MMA is a family business so you can expect to see his daughters and girlfriend at our Braselton school.

The rest of the year will full of new experiences. We look forward to growing and challenging ourselves to be better than we were yesterday.
